Improper Savior
Queen Liana Ashwood. That was never a title Liana ever dared to dream of holding. Nor did she ever dream of having a loving marriage. She’d always wanted it, but never thought it possible. Yet she ended up with both.
As she settles into her duties as Queen, she still struggles with her own insecurities and the people’s skewed perception of her. Half the kingdom loves her, the other half thinks she isn’t qualified for the position. And so, balancing courtly responsibilities with her passion to study magic, Liana continues to incite gossip among high society. The male mage frown upon her studies, while the females pester her about when they can expect an heir to the throne. Annoyed by the frivolity of it all, Liana’s main concerns remain focused on the separatists and her father’s life.
While fighting to establish herself as a monarch and save her father from imminent death, the separatists amp up their rebellion. Killings in the city lead to a pervasive fear and distrust among the breeds, and once news spreads about the prophecy of Liana being The Savior of Triaedian, the kingdom becomes even more divided. They are on the verge of a civil war when one of the rebel’s many attacks is successful.
Liana finds herself captured and separated from her magic, and transported to a distant part of Triaedian where ancient secrets are hidden. Tasked with retrieving a weapon powerful enough to kill a god, powerful enough to kill herself, Liana must fight for her life while exposing a past buried so thoroughly over a thousand years ago that the world doesn’t remember anything about it.
The mysteries keep piling up and the separatists seem to be winning, but Liana and Damien won’t give up on the kingdom they love. Nor will they give up on each other.
